Google Play screenshot size, icon size and feature graphic size: the 2026 requirements.
Every size, format and limit Google Play Console accepts for screenshots, the app icon and the feature graphic, plus the rules that get graphics rejected, in one table you can hand to a designer.
Google Play screenshot size requirements are simple once they are in one place, and confusing when they are spread across five help articles. Here is everything Play Console accepts in 2026, straight from Google's documentation.
Google Play screenshot size requirements
| Rule | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Format | JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha (no transparency) |
| Dimensions | Minimum 320 px, maximum 3,840 px on each side |
| Aspect ratio | The longer side can't be more than twice the shorter side |
| Minimum to publish | At least two screenshots across device types |
| Maximum | Up to 8 per supported device type |
Google Play store screenshot sizes by device
| Device | Guidance from Google |
|---|---|
| Phone (apps) | At least 4 recommended, 1080 px or more: 1080 × 1920 (portrait) or 1920 × 1080 (landscape) |
| Phone (games) | At least 3 recommended, same sizes |
| 7-inch and 10-inch tablets, Chromebooks | At least 4, between 1,080 and 7,680 px, 16:9 landscape or 9:16 portrait |
| Wear OS | At least 1, 1:1, minimum 384 × 384 px, app interface only, no device frames |
| Android TV | At least 1 TV screenshot, plus a 1280 × 720 TV banner |
| Android Automotive OS | At least 2 portrait (800 × 1,280) and 2 landscape (1,024 × 768) where required |
| Android XR | 4 to 8 screenshots, 8:5, recommended 3840 × 2400 (minimum 1920 × 1200) |
The phone figures are Google's recommendations rather than hard limits; the hard limits are the 320–3,840 px range and the 2:1 ratio. The Google Play tablet screenshot size is stricter: 1,080 to 7,680 px at 16:9 or 9:16. The Google Play Console screenshot size checks run when you upload, so oversized or transparent images are rejected immediately.

Promo video
One public or unlisted YouTube URL, with ads turned off, not age-restricted and embeddable. Only the first 30 seconds autoplay, so show the real app in the first 10 seconds.
Rules that get graphics rejected
- Words that suggest ranking, awards, price or promotions: "Best", "#1", "Free", "Million Downloads".
- Calls to action such as "Download now".
- Taglines that take up more than 20% of a screenshot.
- People tapping devices instead of the real app experience (unless the app is used off-device).
- A notification bar full of notifications; Google asks for a clean bar with full battery and signal icons.
Sizes get you approved; content gets you installs. Lead the first screenshot with the main benefit, and test it with a store listing experiment. Our free ASO checker covers screenshots alongside the rest of the listing.
